The One in the Middle

The Ankeny Community is invited to enjoy “The One in the Middle,” an Easter musical drama.  Performances will be on Saturday, April 7 at 7:00 pm and Sunday, April 8 at 8:30 and 10:30 am.  The musical will be held at the Ankeny High School auditorium, located on the north side of the school at 1302 North Ankeny Blvd.  Admission is free but a ticket is required.  Call the AFC office at 964-3870 before April 4th or log on to afcmusic.com to order tickets online.  Any unreserved seats will be open to the public a half hour before the performance.  Seating is on a first come basis for ticket holders and doors open 30 minutes prior to the production.

“The One in The Middle” looks at the crucifixion from the points of view of several characters who watched the events of Good Friday from a nearby hill. We are invited into their world to see those events from their perspective. The music, effectively woven between the dramatic scenes, engages the audience and provides a deeper understanding of Jesus and his last days on earth.  The dramatic musical, adapted from “Watchers on the Hill” by Elaine Aadland, will connect you to a time that may have just seemed like words on a page but take on reality as the musical unfolds.
